The aim of the group is one of reading for sheer enjoyment.  We read everything from full length to one-act plays and sketches.  We vary our readings between classical and contemporary plays, comedies, thrillers, tragedies and all manner of other things

The titles are chosen by suggestions from the members or recommendations.  We try not to read the plays, prior to the meetings, so that we are not too
pre-prepared and to avoid any loss of any surprises or "cliff-hanger endings".  On some occasions, when the selected play has a large cast, members take more than one part, which can be huge fun and sometime quite challenging!

On the evenings when we are not reading plays we enjoy a poetry session.  Members choose a selection of their favourite poems (generally with a theme) and read them for others to enjoy.

The group is very informal.  We usually enjoy a glass of wine and some nibbles and the emphasis is very much on fun and enjoying the company of those who enjoy play reading and poetry.
