Closure of B4009 - Shaw Road, Newbury
Monday 15th February - 12th March 2010
The B4009 Shaw Road will be closed from Hutton Close to Kiln Road during the above dates. This is due to drainage works, the depth of which precludes doing the works with traffic lights.

Diversion route from the northern end of the closure will be via Shaw Hill, Love Lane and the Oxford Road. There will be considerable signage in advance to encourage drivers to find other routes.

The engineer in charge of the works is Steve Read of West Berkshire Council, who can be contacted for further information.

Free Swimming for People aged 60 & over
West Berkshire Council leisure centres are now participating in the Free Swimming Programme for those aged 60 and over. Public pools across West Berkshire are free for you to use during public sessions.

Proof of age is required as part of the programme - ask at centres about the West Berkshire Card which can help with this as well as offering further discounts on other activities.
