The Parish Council is informed every time a member of the Parish submits a planning application to West Berkshire Council. The Parish Council is required to meet within three weeks of receiving the planning application from WBC to discuss the application and make a decision regarding whether or not they will support or oppose the application.

The Parish Council has three options: it can support the planning application, respond with no objections, or they can object to the planning application. They may also decide to send one of the Parish Councillors, typically the Chairman, to speak at the District Planning Committee meeting depending on whether or not they particularly support or object to a planning application.

Members of the public are welcome to attend all Planning Meetings where planning applications are discussed. Notice of a planning meeting is given a week before the meeting is to be held, and the details are posted on the Parish Notice Board and the web site.
