
Members are elected for a four year term, the last election date being in May 2007. Any person being seconded or elected mid-term are members until the end of the initial term.
The Clerk is the main officer of the Council and the majority of correspondence to and from the Council goes to and comes from them. The Clerk attends the Council meetings and may be contacted during the week.
Full Council meetings are held every second month in May, July, September, November, January and March. In April the Council hosts the Annual Parish Meeting. The agenda for these meetings is displayed on the Parish notice board a week before the meeting date.
The next Parish Council meeting is on Monday 29th March at 7.30pm in the Memorial Rooms.
Planning meetings are held within three weeks of the Clerk receiving notification of a planning application and are open to the public. The meeting is advertised a week before the meeting date, with the agenda posted on the Parish notice board.
Irregular meetings are also held to cover business that cannot be deferred until the next full meeting. These meetings are normally held in the Memorial Room at the Village Hall.
The minutes of all meetings are displayed on the Parish noticeboard following the meeting. Additional copies can be requested from the Clerk to read at your leisure.
The Council has a number of diverse responsibilities in the Parish - the provision of allotments, reviewing planning applications, helping to support the graveyard and routine maintenance of Dean Meadow - to name but a few.
