Shop aims to buy new chiller unit and ventilation fan to expand and improve fresh produce range

You may have heard that the shop is applying for grant funding for a multi-deck chiller (to improve the shop’s deli offering) and ventilation cooling fans (to reduce running costs). The capital cost for these items is £7,777. So far we have been awarded 50% of this cost by one grant body.

The grant application to the Greenham Common Trust for the other 50% is now live on-line.

Greenham Common Trust have recently introduced a ‘Trust top up scheme’ with their grant scheme. To encourage individuals and commercial organisations to donate funds, GCT will match all donations. This will double the value of a donation. For taxpayer’s donations, a further 25% Gift Aid is added to the value of a donation.

So, for example, a tax payer’s donation of £20 turns into a total of £45 (£20 donation + £20 match fund = £40, plus 25% of £20 donation = £5 gift aid, so £45 in all). This is therefore a great opportunity to hit our target more easily and quickly. If you go to www.findmeagrant.org select 'West Berkshire', click on ‘Applications’ you can find the Hampstead Norreys Community Shop application for Multi deck chiller and ventilation cooling fans and see more details. The reference number is WB10160. If you felt you were able to make a donation to support your shop in this project, it would be very much appreciated. If you have any queries do get in touch.

For those of you who wish to donate but do not want to access via the internet, the little pig on the shop counter will gladly accept your notes and coins!

Thank you, your support is very much valued.
