Reverend Tony continued with the story and after our own Last Supper snack of squash and biscuits the children worked in teams on four fun activities. From building a miniature Easter garden to running in an egg and spoon relay, personalising a badge to decorating eggs which is where some were cracked and lots of dye was spilt but the end result was stunning!

After every egg was coloured and every garden blooming, we gathered together again.  The next day two women went to the tomb, but when they got there, he was gone. The big stone was rolled away. An angel appeared to them to explain that Jesus had risen from the dead. Hooray! We ended our Easter celebration with more singing and balloons. All the moments of Easter in one morning....what great fun we all had!!

More than 65 children from Hampstead Norreys and Yattendon attended an Easter experience at the start of the Easter holidays – an opportunity to hear and experience Easter through storytelling, games and craft.

The story started in St Mary’s church with Reverend Tony talking about Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem. The children brought this to life by having their own “palm parade” to the village hall. After a jolly song, we learned a memory verse with actions. “We were God’s enemies but he made us his friends through the death of his son. Romans 5:10”. If your children came, ask them to show you!
